USC civilian attire request ongoing, not yet approved
The University Student Council (USC) 2016-2017’s summer season civilian wear proposal is still ongoing as the letter is yet to be approved by Student Welfare and Formations Office (SWAFO) Director John Casidsid and Office of Student Services (OSS) Dean Don Malabanan. As such, students are still required to wear their prescribed uniforms until advised otherwise.
In order to clear the confusion among students who think that they will be allowed to wear civilian attire today, USC President Earll Martin Cacanindin clarified that the letter has not yet been approved.
Although the letter requests that students be allowed to wear civilian attire starting on May 11, the delay in paperwork has stalled their original target implementation date, according to Cacanindin.
“Pinaprocess pa yung letter. As of now, nasa office na siya ni sir John Casidsid. Hopefully, bukas if mapirmahan na siya ni sir, madadala na siya sa OSS then we’ll see if ma-aapprove,” Cacanindin furthered.
Thus, students should not yet assume they can start wearing civilian attire today, as per Cacanindin.
“If ever man, magsstart na siya by the time na ma-approve yung letter,” Cacanindin added.
USC’s proposal aims to ensure students are provided comfort in order to cope with the summer heat, seeing as “The inconvenience of going to school in uniform is considered to be a little unbearable according to the students,” the letter states.
