395 couples tie knot on Valentine’s Day in ULS

Around 395 couples were married during the Mass Wedding held at the Ugnayang La Salle yesterday, February 14.

An annual project conducted every Valentine’s Day initiated by Dasmariñas City Mayor Elpidio “Pidi” Barzaga Jr. during his first term as city mayor until now, the said event has given free church weddings to a total of 800 individuals.

“This is for the citizens of Dasmariñas who are not yet legally married so as to help their (couples) children. Kasi sa birh certificate, lalabas na wala siyang (child) legitimate parents,” Dasmariñas City Vice Mayor Rex Mangubat said.

.He added that the city government also had a problem of holding the mass wedding in Dasmariñas City National High School in previous years due to its open area which was prone to hot temperatures and the possibility of raining.

“Fortunately, DLSU-D gives us the opportunity to use it (ULS) para mas comfortable … Ang alam ko, for the previous years, dito rin kami nag-mass wedding. And most probably, next year [ay dito rin gaganapin ang Mass Wedding],” Mangubat said.
