Admin improves online enrollment for second sem

The use of a high-end test server, additional bandwidth, and the new Provisional Telephone Hotline are the improvements acquired by the administration to assure adequate service to students during the online enrollment this coming second semester.

Information and Communications Technology Center (ICTC) Director Kristina Miciano said that the improvement of the test servers and bandwidth would resolve the technical problems encountered by the students during past online enrollment procedures.

“As early as now, nagco-configure na kami ng server. So hopefully by the start of the enrollment on November 9, the server will be ready,” she said.

She added that they will also provide new Provisional Telephone Hotline to the Registrar’s Office to receive calls from the students and parents concerning their online enrollment inquiries.

The ICTC personnel, in coordination with the Registrar’s Office and University Student Council 2015 – 2016, will manage the said hotlines throughout the duration of the online enrollment, Miciano said.

On the other hand, University Registrar Marialita Esberto said they will post the online enrollment procedures on the DLSU-D website to inform the students, particularly the first year students. The online enrollment procedures, which will be the same as the previous semester, will also appear on social media sites like Facebook.

Esberto said that students should enroll on time to avoid force adding of subjects, which occurs when students want to add subjects that are not reserved for them or are already closed.

In response to the claims of some students during the first semester, that the administration no longer allows the force adding of subjects, Esberto clarified, “We do accommodate the students if they are graduating, but not necessarily iyong mga nale-late nang mag-enroll. Hindi kami nag–a-allow ng mga estudyante na magsabi lang na graduating sila. Kaya mayroon din kaming mga staff who will certify if the student is really graduating.”

Esberto advised students to settle their concerns regarding the force adding of subjects at Counters 1, 2 or 4, depending on their respective courses.

Meanwhile, students can also petition for a class in their portals if their needed subjects are closed during online enrollment.
