Admin clarifies construction at Gate 1
The on-going project of the Dasmariñas City government in front of Magdalo Gate (Gate 1) stirred reactions from DLSU-D students. According to General Services Office (GSO) Director Edwin Bunag, the construction aims to prohibit vehicles from making a U-turn so pedestrians can safely cross the street.
Bunag added that the pedestrian lane will remain open and a seven-inch platform will be constructed in order to prevent vehicles from crossing.

Meanwhile, the construction of road center islands on both ends of the platform will extend from Area F to Dasmariñas Water District. Bunag said, “‘Yong mga center island na iko-construct ay katulad no’ng mga nakikita sa Dasmariñas na may ilaw. Para maliwanag at mas safe tuwing gabi.”
The city government also plans to build an overpass near the University; however Bunag said its details are yet to be confirmed.
The construction of the platform is expected to finish on December 5.
