CALABARZON Lady Spikers remain unscathed in PRISAA nat’ls

The Region 4-A CALABARZON Lady Spikers claimed a three straight-victory in the eliminations round after seizing a 3-1 record against Region 3 today, April 6, at the Osita Central Elementary School, Koronadal, South Cotabato.

Losing the momentum in the second set, the red-and-white squad fought hard to take home 25-13, 16-25, 25-21, and 25-20 scores.

All or nothing

The CALABARZON Lady Spikers erased Central Luzon’s hopes for a deciding set, claiming the fourth set with a 25-20 outcome.

Despite an early three-point giveaway for the rivals through Myell Joy Pasco and team captain Cherry Rose Nunag’s errors, Region 4-A started out slow until they found their pace in the latter part of the set.

CALABARZON trailed behind Central Luzon until Iumi Yongco fired up the team with her jaw-dropping spike, followed by two service aces that knocked Vanessa Tulabut and Vaira Lintag down, 17-18. Region 3’s Aivee Marie Lustu contributed another point for the CALABARZON team with an error, followed by Mara Galicia and Eunice Castillo’s block against Anjeanette Ade that finally claimed their first lead in the set, 19-18.

Bade and Jellica De Guzman managed to tie the scores to 19 after denying Galicia’s attack, but that was the last time Region 3 got aggressive as Region 4-A bombarded kills on the opponent’s court, 23-19.

Bade struck the last kill for Region 3 before Region 4-A completely owned the set after Nunag’s crowd-pleasing kill, 25-20.
