As part of the Psychology Department’s faculty exchange program, two Indonesian professors, Dr. Augustina Sulastri, Psi and Dr. Yohanes Bagus Wismanto, MS from Unika Soegijapranata or the Soegijapranata Catholic University conducted lectures on Neuro-linguistic Programming and Psychogenetics to AB and BS Psychology students at the Severino de las Alas Hall, Alumni Auditorium yesterday, September 6.

Dr. Sulastri’s lecture titled ‘Application of the Principles of Neuro-Linguistic Programming to enhance the positive-self’ included two short video clips ‘Memory Champion’ and ‘A lesson from a twin’ explaining how a person is able to store massive amounts of information and how manipulation of an environment can affect one’s personality ‘for a day’, respectively.

Meanwhile, Dr. Wismanto’s lecture titled ‘The Psychogenetics’ emphasized the importance of genetics wherein he stated that, “neurolinguistics is the inception of the new language to your brain.”

Aside from the regular faculty exchange program, the Psychology Department is also offering a student exchange program to Dumaguete, Negros Oriental and Bali, Indonesia. One to 200 hours will be deducted from the required number of hours for the on-the-job training (OJT) of the participating Psychology students.
