DLSU-D student lands at 9th spot on October 2017 Psychometrician Licensure Exam
DLSU-D Bachelor of Arts in Psychology graduate Lara Danika Modesto landed on the 9th spot on the October 2017 Board Licensure Exam for Psychologists and Psychometricians (BLEPP), as announced by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on November 7 with a rating of 82.80 percent.
Modesto shares the 9th place with 12 other examinees who came from different universities, such as the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, Our Lady of Fatima University, and Holy Angel University.
The October 2017 BLEPP was facilitated by PRC on October 29 and 30.
Modesto is the second DLSU-D student to reach top 10 after alumna Jehnnylie Beringuel, who placed 4th in the 2015 BLEPP according to Psychology Department Secretary Lyn Saul. The said licensure exam started in 2014.
Overall, out of the 122 first time licensure exam-takers from DLSU-D, 78 passed the exam while 44 failed, with a 63.93 percent passing rate. Meanwhile, from the 12 repeaters from DLSU-D, 7 passed while 5 failed, with a 58.33 percent passing rate.
However, Saul noted that the PRC’s result numbers on the total examinees from DLSU-D is yet to be confirmed since her manual count of the board exam takers only totaled to 133, differing from the PRC’s count of 134 DLSU-D students and graduates who took the exam. As of press time, Saul said the Psychology Department has already requested for the PRC’s official list of DLSU-D board exam takers.

In an online interview with The Heraldo Filipino, Modesto, who prepared five months prior the board exams, said she couldn’t help but be taken by surprise upon seeing the results. “It’s overwhelming because I did not expect it. When the results came out, I immediately checked the list of passers and I cried when I saw my name,” Modesto said.
During her college years, Modesto was awarded by the Psychology Department as Best in Psychological Assessment in her class.
She furthered that she plans to save up money to take a master’s degree in Psychology once she finds a job and will continue to pursue medical school in the future.
For future BLEEP takers, Modesto advised them to enroll in a review center, overpower stress and anxiety, have enough time for sleep, be with people who motivate them to study, and to do their best and believe in the power of prayer.
Modesto also shared her gratitude to the Psychology Department saying, “I would like to express my utmost gratitude to the Faculty of Psychology Department for encouraging us to take the BLEPP, to their efforts on preparing us by giving us review sessions and to their continuous support on our journey in becoming registered psychometricians.”
