SCE accredits new political parties to run in 2018 University Student Elections

After the period of filing for new political parties ended on October 30, the Student Commission on Election (SCE) released the Resolution No. 6, Series of 2017-2018 resolving the petition for registration and accreditation of political parties on November 9, wherein two new political parties, YUGTO-LASALLE and TATAG (Transformative Actions Towards Active Governance) Lasalyano, have been accredited to run in the 2018 university student elections.

After SCE’s deliberation on November 3, SCE accepted the petition for accreditation of the two new political parties, YUGTO-LASALLE and TATAG Lasalyano, five working days after the mentioned political parties filed a petition for the registration and accreditation of political parties.

Prior to the accreditation of the newly recognized political parties, SCE decided to reconsider the accreditation of SINAG Political Party for academic year 2017-2018 after they filed a letter for reconsideration on October 11.

SINAG Political Party was initially suspended to run in the 2018 university student elections due to their non-compliance to the requirements imposed by SCE.

As announced by SCE, the official political parties eligible to run in the 2018 University Student Elections are SINAG Political Party, YUGTO-LASALLE, and TATAG Lasalyano.
