Cavite arrives in Lucena for PRISAA – reg’ls

Different provinces in CALABARZON united once again for the annual Private Schools Athletic Association (PRISAA) – Regionals where hundreds of athletes arrived in the territory of Wild Cats at the Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation (MSEUF) Gymnasium in Lucena City, Quezon, today, March 8.

The games will officially start tomorrow, March 9, until March 11 at the MSEUF vicinity, Quezon Capitol Badminton Court, and SM Event Center.

Welcoming the delegates with a reminder to enjoy the games, MSEUF’s President Naila Leveriza said that despite the rivalry between the provinces, “at the end of the day, we will always represent Region 4-A.”

The ceremony wasn’t as festive as other program openings where colorful parades take place, but the essence of sportsmanship sparked after the lighting of torch, which was led by representatives from each province. Hailing PRISAA – Nationals basketball women’s Most Valuable Player Mariel Campasa bannered the Cavite team.

Patriot cagers’ team captain John Cantimbuhan, meanwhile, represented Cavite for the ceremonial toss after the games were formally opened by Regional PRISAA Executive Director Gerry Sergio.

The opening ceremony closed after a cultural presentation by Wild Cats talents Ryan Gabriel Ayangco and MSEUF Banyuhay Dance Troupe.
