DLSU-D MVT’s Patriot Cup to launch this October
Formerly conducted by the Physical Education (PE) and Sports Development Office (SDO), the Patriot Cup, a one-day volleyball league open to all male volleyball enthusiasts inside and outside the university, is proposed and spearheaded by the DLSU-D Men’s Volleyball Team (MVT) to launch this October 14, at the Ugnayang La Salle (ULS).
“First time siyang (Patriot Cup) mangyayari in our term as an existing team na magp-propose ng one-day league ng mga commercial teams and different schools,” said Council of Student Athletes (CSA) President John Joshua Tengco. He added that different schools, clubs, teams, and existing organizations can join the volleyball league.
To enter the competition, a registration fee of 1,500 PHP is required for interested players and teams. The collected fund will be used for the referee fee, prizes, while the rest will go to the MVT fund.
“Syempre hindi naman lahat kayang i-shoulder ng SDO ‘yong gagastusin naming (MVT) sa UniGames. ‘Yong maco-collect na fund namin ay gagamitin namin for the other expenses namin pagdating sa UniGames. For example, after game kakain gan’yan,” Tengco said.
Interested players and teams may submit requirements to DLSU-D MVT’s Facebook page.
