Registrar, AEA-IRC adjust transactions amid COVID-19

Following the notice from Vice Chancellor for Academics and Research Dr. Marco Saez on March 11, the Office of the University Registrar (OUR) adjusted office transactions affected by class suspension, as shared by Assistant Vice Chancellor for Academic Services (AVCAS) Sonia Gementiza.

Classes are suspended until April 14 in effect of the Luzon-wide “enhanced community quarantine” in response to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak.

As such, requested documents from the OUR and other transactions will be processed within two days upon office work and class resumption, along with the dropping of subjects without refund initially scheduled on March 23.

In adherence to distance learning mode in utilization of an online learning system, faculty members are no longer required to submit midterm examination schedules and no deadline for submission of midterm grades (Portal is open from April 15 to May 30) are added to the recently implemented management of classes and faculty and student activities and services

Library online services continues

In maximization of online tools, Gementiza also mentioned that the Aklatang Emilio Aguinaldo – Information Resource Center (AEA-IRC) will continue providing online services to the students and faculty members to ensure that resources will remain available following distance learning mode.

The library will maintain a skeletal force to attend to any emergency situation, where library personnel will accept library virtual assistance requested through the AEA-IRC email (aklatan@dlsud.edu.ph) or by directly messaging the DLSU-D Library Facebook account

While students and faculty members should secure an open Athens account “to remotely access online sources and databases.”

For authentication services, PlagScan codes and accounts can be obtained by students and faculty through given emails:
aklatanplagiarism@dlsud.edu.ph and aklatan@dlsud.edu.ph.

Furthermore, overdue fines shall be waived for borrowed books with due date under March 17 to April 14 while graduate students may also return their books on April 18 without paying any fines, where renewal requests for both cases will no longer be needed.
