AB COM exhibits short films for Gawad Tala 2015
Six groups from the third year AB Communication students launched the trailers of the short films they directed and produced in the press conference for Gawad Tala 2015 held at the Tanghalang Julian Felipe (TJF) on October 21.
The press conference held an open forum after the presentation of the trailers wherein the audience and production teams discussed the plot and genre of each story. The following day, the full showing of the short films took place at the TJF.
Students from COM31 showcased Bad Biscuit Productions’ Somnus Fuerit and Infinite Productions’ Parallel. The film Somnus Fuerit stars Marga, a girl who wants to discover the meaning of her dreams, while Parallel tells the story of a man from a big corporation being followed and disturbed by a suspicious character.
On the other hand, COM32 produced two films, WC Productions’ Esther and Kape’s Productions’ Suenyo. Esther exhibits people’s greed as they fight over the inheritance of a doll named Esther while Suenyo focuses on depression and ways to overcome it.

Lastly, COM33 presented films through FiftyFifty Productions’ Katha and Hukbo Pictures Production’s Revelare. The film Katha portrays a man who always finds himself powerless in unfortunate events, while Revelare depicts the life of three women with different principles and goals.
The winners of the Gawad Tala 2015 were announced during the Awards Night at the TJF yesterday, October 23. The film Revelare dominated as they won most of the top categories, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Production Design, and Best Story.
Kimberly Ioannou took the Best Actress award for her leading role in Revelare, while Jessone Purificacion won Best Supporting Actor for the same film. Camille Feliciano from Somnus Fuerit won Best Supporting Actress and Best Actor went to Ralph Acuzar from Suenyo, which also garnered the awards for Best Sound, Best Musical Score, Best Film Editing, and Best Exhibit.
