CoSA hosts workshop, donation drive for balik-aral learners
The DLSU-D Circle of Student Assistants (CoSA) hosted tutoring sessions for its two-day outreach initiative titled “Eunoia: Cultivating Bright Minds, Shaping Futures” for balik-aral students during the Students’ Week 2024 at the Ladislao Diwa Hall (LDH) on November 11 and 13.
CoSA, in partnership with the Lasallian Educators Society (LES), held a workshop for balik-aral students under the Alternative Learning System (ALS), consisting of lessons, activities, and prizes prepared by the LES members and the outreach committee of CoSA.
The tutoring is based on the balik-aral students’ curriculum, which focuses on foundational subjects such as Mathematics, English, Science, and Filipino.
In this initiative, CoSA recognized the limited outreach for student organizations and lack of collaborations with concerned groups by holding an activity that focuses on the issues on poverty, economic inequality, and educational disparity in the city.
Meanwhile, the donation drive for hygiene and school supplies for the said program started last week on November 5, 6, and 8, wherein DLSU-D scholars were required to donate as part of their duty hours, while non-scholars were highly encouraged to donate as well.
Eunoia aims to provide educational resources and hygiene kits to support the well-being of its participants, as well as to establish and maintain active partnerships with local government units (LGUs) and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to “amplify the impact of outreach activities.
