Admin constructs new Campus Security Office
Due to the increasing incidents involving the student safety inside the campus, the administration established the new Campus Security Office beside the Student Welfare and Formation Office (SWAFO) to serve as the chief security command center of the University.
“It (construction of Campus Security Office) has nothing to do with the incident last January. The proposal was passed on June 2015, then the construction was completed by December 2015,” General Services Office (GSO) Director Edwin Bunag clarified.
According to Bunag, the new security office will be working together with SWAFO in enforcing campus policies.
“Doon gagawin ‘yung lahat ng security reports and security concerns, pati lahat ng tawag [ay] doon babagsak,” he said.
He added that the new Campus Security Office, headed by Officer In Charge Junal Tugbo, is currently monitoring the CCTV cameras inside the campus.
He said that they will release a memorandum announcing the formal start of the office’s operations before the end of February.

Jogging track permit
The Reservations Office tentatively implemented a jogging track permit that students, alumni, and faculty are required to submit in order to use the University Track Oval during 4 to 8 PM.
According to Assistant Vice Chancellor on Finance (AVCF) Belinda Narvaez, the permit aims to monitor the students who are using the Track Oval for maintenance purposes.
“Walang kinalaman ‘yung pag-implement namin ng ganitong policy sa incident na nangyari sa Grandstand no’ng January,” Narvaez mentioned.
She also dismissed reports that only 100 students are allowed to use the said facility each day. She clarified that the Track Oval is open to all students provided that it can accommodate the number of users.
Meanwhile, Narvaez said they will change the jogging permit policy after the administration releases the memorandum regarding the use of the Track Oval this February.
“Hindi na kailangan ng permit once na i-release na ‘yung memorandum. Kailangan na lang maglog-in ng estudyante sa guard para alam kung sino-sino ‘yung mga gumagamit,” she said.
