CALABARZON spikers eye PRISAA nat’ls title, draft 3-0 record in elims
Eager to reclaim their championship title, the CALABARZON spikers, led by the Patriots, started big in the elimination round of the men’s volleyball tournament in the Private Schools Athletic Association (PRISAA) – Nationals as they trounced Central Luzon, 3-0, Northern Mindanao, 25-15, 24-26, 25-16, and 25-21, and Zamboanga Peninsula, 25-9, 25-11, and 25-10, at the Koronadal National Comprehensive High School (KNCHS) Gymnasium, Koronadal City, South Cotabato, April 5 – 6.
Patriot ace players Aldin Bin, Bryan Castro, and Eddiemar Kasim, together with University of Batangas’ Nikko Ortega, showered kills on Central Luzon’s court and led the team to grab their first victory after whitewashing the Region 3 spikers in straight sets, 25-21, 25-19, and 25-28, yesterday.
During their second match, the CALABARZON spikers captured the first set, 25-15, yet succumbed to the Northern Mindanao squad after two deuces, 24-26. The red-and-white squad ruled the third and fourth set of the game, 25-16 and 25-21, respectively, and seized their second win of the day.
Aiming for a clean sweep eliminations, the CALABARZON spikers will battle against the Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao squad tonight at the KNCHS gymnasium.
