COEd alumna among Top Ten Outstanding Students in CALABARZON

Bachelor of Elementary Education alumna Tricxie Kate Aromin placed in the Ten Outstanding Students of the Philippines (TOSP) regional search for CALABARZON, which was awarded during the 58th TOSP-CALABARZON at Lima Park Hotel in Malvar, Batangas last August 21.

On the other hand, Bachelor of Secondary Education graduate Ricabelle Rupido also landed as one of the 20 qualifiers.

TOSP – Calabarzon is a search for 20 eligible college students with their own advocacy on education, leadership, and social responsibility through conducting community outreach, immersion, and motivational speeches.

A top ten will be chosen to represent CALABARZON for TOSP – National, where all contestants will be screened and be cut short to thirty finalists on the national level, from which the top ten national outstanding students will be awarded.

Being an advocate for quality special education, Aromin shared that the way to change and improve something is by being involved with it, emphasizing how she is currently practicing teaching on a Special Education Center in Imus, Cavite and is aiming to be a public school SPED Teacher.

Aromin also expressed her appreciation for the University for giving students the opportunity to be exposed to such events. Furthermore, she challenges current student leaders of the University to do what is right, perform the purpose of their positions, and leave a legacy not just in achieving awards but in helping and serving other people.

“… Importante na alam ng mga student leaders ngayon na hindi sila mag-aim sa award, … huwag sila mag-aim sa victory kasi ang victory pang-isang araw lang. …mag-aim sila sa legacy kasi pang-matagalan ‘yun.” Aromin said.
