In celebration of the Finance Festival 2016, the DLSU-D Junior Financial Executives (JFINEX) gathered at least 1,500 participants from different universities in their 2nd Students’ Summit with the theme “Money Matters: Changing the Way You Think about Money” on October 22 at the Ugnayang La Salle.
According to JFINEX President Riguel Fojas, the said summit, which aims to inform the students about financial literacy, is a fund-raising event for the DLSU-D One La Salle scholars.
“Since to promote financial interest’ po talaga ‘yong mismong focus nitong organization namin … nakaka-affect din ‘yong mindset ng bawat tao sa pag–ma-manage ng kanyang financial literacy,” Fojas added.
He said the theme was derived from the important aspects of a student’s life such as leadership, intelligence, spirituality, and religion.
Meanwhile, Fojas admitted that they failed to reach 2,500 participants, which was original target in the summit as only 14 out of 53 invited universities joined and complied.
The speakers for the said event included Anthony Pangilinan, Mark Fauston, Kenneth Abante, and Pastor Jaby Soriano who discussed money in relation to relationship, investment, leadership, and spirituality respectively.
The summit was endorsed by the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office IV-A through Regional Memorandum Order No. 213 Series 2015.
