Dorm fee increases due to men’s CR renovation

The Kamagong and Bagtikan buildings of the men’s dormitory have recently opened their newly-renovated comfort rooms after reconstruction began on June 17.

The administration will increase the dormitory fee of the DLSU-D Student Dormitory Kamagong and Bagtikan buildings male dormers by approximately P500 due to their newly-renovated comfort rooms, according to Dormitory Head Elizabeth Fernandez.

Kapag luma ‘yong room mo, siyempre mas mababa [ang dormitory fee]. E bagong repair ‘yong sayo [kaya] mas mataas para walang conflict [sa student dormers],” said Fernandez.

Building Facilities and Management Office (BFMO) Director Dennis Pontanilla mentioned that the said renovation is needed to replace its cracked titles and upgrade its equipment. He added that one of the BFMO’s policies is to upgrade the facilities and equipment inside the University.

“It was built for almost 10 years and it’s about time we renovate it (men’s comfort rooms) to provide better services for the student dormers. Outdated na [rin kasi] yong mga tile, tubo, at faucet, e,” Pontanilla said.

The men’s comfort room renovation started on June 17 and was completed in one month, Fernandez and Pontanilla affirmed.

“Aware naman kami sa renovations na kailangan ng dormitory facilities, kasopag bawat comfort room [ng lahat ng building] ire-renovate totally, baka kulang[in ang] funds,” Fernandez said.

As of press time, she furthered that the administration plans to renovate the comfort rooms of Itong, Acacia, and Molave buildings in the succeeding years. With a report from Yna Marisse Sodoy
