Whenever we travel, Filipinos make it a habit to bring pasalubong for friends and family on our way home. Although it’s easy to get stoked for burgers and fries on long road trips, there’s nothing like local confectionaries, especially if they’re from Rowena’s Café.
While a lot of cafés are known for their coffee, Rowena’s Café is widely known for their delectable sweets. Primarily catering to our sweet tooth, the stop-by also has a line of delicious Filipino finger food or picka-picka that we all enjoy. One of the reasons for the café’s incredible reputation are its cheese tarts topped with different kinds of fruit like Mango, Strawberry, and Blueberry that add a dash of nutrition to your saccharine dishes. Our local favorites such as espasol, atsara (pickled green papaya), and sweet dilis among others are also available.
Well known for its delectable pasalubong and stop-by shop, the separate Rowena’s Café sits like a hidden gem behind its store at the Tagaytay – Sta. Rosa Road. A picture-perfect paradise complete with a wishing well, pristine pool, and breathtaking view, the café/restaurant’s isolation give it a retreat-like feel that injects some peace into your dining. The café also offers full meals ranging from pastas and salads to rice meals, as well as drinks like the Strawberry Milkshake that features a marshmallow-like fluffy cream that’s sure to send you to cloud nine.
Before entering the café, we might as well order a bottle or two of water, to keep our taste buds intact after enjoying every sweetmeat they offer.
