Green Patriots seal South Luzon LCL semis berth with 5-2 record

After two consecutive games on Sunday afternoon, November 5, the DLSU-D Green Patriots will advance to the semifinals after defeating University of Santo Tomas (UST) Ligers but bowing down to University of the Philippines – Los Baños (UPLB) Excelsior in the seventh South Luzon League of Legends (LoL) Collegiate League (LCL) Conference.

The team, comprised mainly of DLSU-D Information Technology students, currently shares a 5-2 record with powerhouse UPLB.

The Green Patriots are currently in second place, as they own the lone loss of current first place holder Siena College of Taytay (SCT) H20 E-Sports and stunning USTboth victors against UPLB.

However, according to Green Patriot helm Marc “Alpha” Perez, they still need more practice.

Kailangan namin ng practice, ‘yong matino,” Perez shared. “Oo, malakas sila individually pero iba pa rinyong nag-practice kayo as a team. Kasi ang problema namin, ‘yong communication,”  Perez said.

He added that discipline is the key to their championship trophy goal. The lack of practice was evident in their first game against UPLB, as per another Green Patriot, support Erwin John Gaa.

Dapat panalo kami nong first game. Hindi nagkaintindihan napapunta na diyanyong kalaban, back na’. Kumbaga kailangan naming iposisyonyong sarili namin sa makakalaban namin sa semis.” Gaa furthered that team play is vital in a game, saying it’s more important than individual skills. Nevertheless, the two are still confident in the Green Patriots’ game experience and knowledge.

Their semifinals opponent will be decided after the game between SCT and fourth placer Bicol University on Saturday, November 11.
