LCDC calls for Mayon Volcano evacuees donation

The Lasallian Community Development Center (LCDC) raised a call for donations to support displaced families in the surrounding areas of Mayon Volcano, Albay, after the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) raised Alarm No. 4, which signifies a possible imminent hazardous eruption and extends the danger zone to 9 km due to the erratic condition of Mayon Volcano.

There are an estimated 85,000 evacuees seeking refuge from the Mayon Volcano’s recent activity. PHIVOLCS described the situation as having “increased seismic unrest, lava fountaining, and summit explosions” in the danger zone.

DLSU-D is focusing its efforts on supporting the town of Guinobatan, a municipality located at a 45.1 km distance from Mayon Volcano and currently hosting 3,090 displaced families, or 10,544 citizens.

The University targets to provide the town with a stable supply of clean water, food, hygiene kits, and medicine—all of which are the resources gradually being depleted in the evacuation areas.

Donation procedure

DLSU-D encourages cash donations, and donors are advised to donate directly to the Accounting Office under the account name: LCDC Relief and Disaster Fund.

Direct deposits to the University’s account are also accepted. The following are provided details:
