Med Bio pioneer batch achieves 100% passing rate in 2018 PLE
The pioneer Medical Biology batch of 2010 – 2014 graduates achieved a 100% passing rate in the September – October 2018 Physician Licensure Exam (PLE) conducted by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) as 16 out of the 16 students from the batch passed the PLE this October 27 and 28.
“Kung titingnan natin, talagang nasala sila (Medical Biology students). So I believe that they are really prepared.” said College of Sciences and Computer Studies (CSCS) Dean Johnny Ching, explaining the strict implementation of the retention policy for the Medical Biology program wherein students must not get a grade lower than 2.00 in any Biology major courses and must have a grade point average of at least 2.50 per semester.
Ching furthered that the accelerated program has become a compressed program starting this academic year (AY). Instead of continuing the fourth year of the program in De La Salle Medical and Health Sciences Institute (DLSMHSI) as their first year in medical school proper, the AY 2018-2019 batch of freshmen Medical Biology students will be able to graduate after three years with the same retention policy.
“After three years ga-graduate sila and they can proceed to any medical school they want,” Ching said.
According to the PRC website, 3,717 examinees passed the September – October 2018 PLE out of 4,542.
