OUR revises 18 program codes for AY 2018-2019
The Office of the University Registrar (OUR) has revised 18 of the program codes offered in the College of Engineering, Architecture, and Technology (CEAT); College of Business Administration and Accountancy (CBAA); College of Education (COEd), and College of Science and Computer Studies (CSCS) based on specialization tracks of each course effective for the incoming freshmen of academic year (AY) 2018-2019.
According to OUR Director Paulino Gatpandan, the changes were implemented by the four colleges to assign specific curriculums for each specialization track in preparation for the enrollment of students in the succeeding AYs.
“Once na ang [incoming] freshmen natin ay dumating ng third year level, at pumili na sila ng kanya-kanyang track, magkakaroon kasi ng ibang assigned curriculums [for the chosen tracks] para hindi din tayo (OUR) malito when it comes doon sa paga-assign ng curriculum sa online enrollment natin.”
Gatpandan furthered that the colleges decided to modify the program code in order to make new curriculums catering to the incoming freshmen of AY 2018-2019.
Meanwhile, Professional Education Department Chair Relyn Antenor-Cruz explained that the change in the program for the College of Education (COEd) was due to the issued CHED Memorandum Order (CMO) No. 76 series of 2017 stating the importance of zero to eight years old as the crucial stage of educational development for children, together with CMO No. 77 series of 2017 stipulating the need for competent teachers to work with youths and children with special needs.
With the memoranda, the previous program of Bachelor in Elementary Education with area of concentration in Early Childhood Education and Special Education, will be split to Bachelor of Early Childhood Education and Bachelor of Special Needs Education.
On the other hand, the new program codes will not affect the upperclassmen of DLSU-D.
The list of modified program codes and offerings from the Registrar office can be seen below.
