Patriot cagebelles winless after being defaulted in NCRUCLAA

The DLSU-D cagebelles lost their chance to battle against the University of Makati (UMak) Lady Herons on February 18 after failing to attend the match due to miscommunication between the National Capital Region Universities and Colleges of Luzon Athletic Association (NCRUCLAA) committee and Sports Development Office (SDO).

According to SDO Director Fidel Rojales, the miscommunication was over the NCRUCLAA committee’s schedule of games as SDO believed that the game was not yet scheduled, and therefore, did not issue transportation for that day.

“Nagre-request sila before na ‘yong laro ay dito [gaganapin] kaso ‘di tayo pumayag and the rest (other schools), walang available na gyms…” Rojales explained. “Kaya for the meantime, sabi nila magkakaroon ng change [of] venue pero ‘di nila in-update [sa amin] ‘yon.”

After losing against the Rizal Technological University (RTU) Blue Thunders in their first match in the tourney, the Lady Patriots suffer another loss, totaling to a 0-2 record.

Keeping their heads up, the DLSU-D Cagebelles will compete against long-time rival Emilio Aguinaldo College – Cavite Lady Vanguards at the Ugnayang La Salle, today at 9 AM.
