PSL welcomes Lady Patriots to 2018 Collegiate Grand Slam

The DLSU-D Lady Patriots along with five other collegiate teams and eight franchise teams, attended the Philippine SuperLiga (PSL) 2018 Opening Ceremony of Collegiate Grand Slam and All Filipino Conference at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City on November 3.

PSL chairman Philip Ella Juico commenced the event by stating his pride on the growth of the league, where it started from six teams into the now 14. Juico also acknowledged the sponsors and teams partaking in the league.

“Never ever fear things whatever the things they want to go for, to always go for what it is they dream for, and to dream big. Ito ang gusto nating ipakita dito  sa PSL na it’s more than just a volleyball game, it’s really an avenue for young ladies out there to fulfill whatever it is that they want on and off the volleyball court.,” Sports5 head Patricia Bermudez-Hizon, said during her closing remarks.

The participating teams in the collegiate league include: Colegio San Agustin-Biñan Eagles, DLSU-D Lady Patriots, Far Eastern University Lady Tamaraws, University of the East Lady Warriors, University of the Philippines Lady Fighting Maroons, and University of Santo Tomas Golden Tigresses.

The Music Foundation Band of Dasmariñas sparked up by the ceremony with their rendition of Momoland’s ‘Bboom Bboom’ before introducing the participating teams.

The DLSU-D volleybelles will take the University Athletic Association of the Philippines powerhouse Lady Tamaraws by the horns on Saturday, November 10, at Alonte Sports Center at Biñan, Laguna.
