Updated DLSU-D dress code now applicable
Students can start wearing the updated dress code stipulated in the 2018-2022 DLSU-D Student Handbook, as per Office of Student Services (OSS) Dean Arch. Antonio Gutierrez Jr.
Among other changes, the updated Student Handbook now allows shorts and ripped jeans in the University provided that shorts do not go higher than 3 inches above the knee and that ripped jeans do not have rips and visible skin more than 3 inches above the knee.
Gutierrez clarified that freshmen have already been informed of the changes regarding the dress code during their orientation, and that the upperclassmen may follow suit.
“Pwede na, sigurado yan. Sinabi na sa freshmen,” Gutierrez confirmed in an interview with The HERALDO FILIPINO.
Since the new uniforms for freshmen are still unavailable, all freshmen are permitted to wear the prescribed civilian clothes until September 21 while upperclassmen are permitted until August 24, as per a memo released by Gutierrez also on August 10.
The updated dress code was submitted by the Student Handbook revision committee and approved by the Academic Council last academic year 2017-2018.
Below is a comparison table of the DLSU-D Student Handbook dress code provisions from AY 2014-2018 to AY 2018-2022:
Gutierrez encourages the upperclassmen to give comments and recommendations regarding the DLSU-D Student Handbook, which is to be posted online during the start of classes.
“Doon naman sa mga upperclassmen, ine-encourage ko na tingnan ‘yong [student handbook at] makialam,” the OSS Dean said.
